I know that the other missing space is due to a "SECURE" folder. The problem is, there is a proprietary software from Lexar that is used called Safe Guard that allows access to that folder. I don't know whats in that folder, and I don't care (I found the drive a couple weeks ago, after missing it for over a year.) I just want to erase everything on there and have use of the full space.

Is there any way to do this?

Thank you so much for your help.

Hi jwinathome.
The drive should be listed in "My Computer" when inserted.
Right click>Format. (full, not quick).

Unfortunately, that does not work, it in fact gives me the message...

Windows was unable to complete the format.

I believe this is due to the "Secure" partition.

In that case, I'd download and install the jumpdrive secure software (ver 3.3) here. You can always uninstall it later.

Thank you for the link...I downloaded and installed. Everything worked correctly. I found....nothing.....in the SECURE folder.

Basically, it is two partitions. I want to make it one partition, but it gives me a "write-protection" error. Anyone have any ideas how to make one partition out of this?

Are you saying the jumpdrive software won't let you reformat it?
If so, see if "Porsche997turbo's" method works for you in this thread.

Thats correct, it actually gives me this error when I right-click to delete:

The requested operation cannot be completed because the media is write-protected.

The Lexar site should have a free utility for removing the Secure partition.

Try this link: http://www.lexar.com/support/faqs_secure.html#7

Thanks for everyones reply...I actually found that I had to right-click the tray icon to get the configuration choice. There was no other way to access it. From there, I was able to adjust the partitions. Weird software!!

Thanks again!
