I have an unknown infection on my PC, pop-up adverts keep randomly appearing and I occasionally get McAfee notifications of Trojans been cleaned.
I don't know what the infection is, only that it is there although a bit of research suggests it could be related to a file named lsass16.exe in my C:\Windows\System32 folder which I cannot remove.
Below is my HijackThis! log, if anyone can spot anything wrong and help me solve the problem I'd be very grateful of help.

Welcome to the BleepingComputer HijackThis Logs and Analysis forum KingyOwl

My name is Richie and i'll be helping you to fix your problems.

Please move HijackThis.exe to its own permanent folder on the hard drive such as C:\HJT
Create a new folder and place HijackThis.exe inside that folder so that the backups of log changes it creates are saved in the same folder and can be used to reverse the line entry deletion if found to be necessary.
If you run Hijackthis from the desktop, the files it removes will not be backed up properly.

How to create a new folder named HJT
1. Click Start/My Computer,in the 'My Computer' window, open the window in which you want to create the new folder, click on Local Disk C:
2. From the 'File' menu choose 'New'.
3. From the 'New' menu choose 'Folder'.
4. Type the folder name: HJT
5. Then press Enter.

*************************

Please download the OTMoveIt by OldTimer:
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/oldtimer/OTMoveIt.exe

Save it to your desktop.
Please double-click OTMoveIt.exe to run it.
Copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

C:\WINDOWS\lsass16.exe
C:\DOCUME~1\Andy\LOCALS~1\Temp\win1F5.tmp.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\tezchiby.exe

Return to OTMoveIt, right click on the "Paste List of Files/Folders to be moved" window and choose Paste.
Click the red Moveit! button.
Close OTMoveIt

If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process.
If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.

*************************

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
When VundoFix re-opens,click the "Scan for Vundo" button.
Once it's done scanning, click the "Remove Vundo" button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click "YES".
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed,it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click "OK".
Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt into your next reply.

Note:
It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case,VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.

*************************

Please download Combofix and save to your desktop:
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/Beta/ComboFix.exe
Note:
It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop

Close any open browsers.
Double click on combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's finished it will produce a log.
Post the C:\ComboFix.txt into your next reply.
Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running.
That may cause the program to freeze/hang.

*************************

Now go to:
C:\HJT\HijackThis.exe
Right click on Hijackthis.exe and select 'Rename', rename it to abc.bat
Double click on abc.bat(which is still Hijackthis.exe),post that log into your next reply please.

Hey, thanks for your response.

OTMoveIt.exe could only find the file lsass16.exe, I may have manually removed the others yesterday when I emptied my Temp folder.

Here is the log from VundoFix:

Download Avenger from the link below:
http://swandog46.geekstogo.com/avenger.zip
Unzip/extract it to your desktop.

Start up Avenger.
Check the 'Input script manually' option.
Click the Magnifying Glass icon.
In the box that opens, copy and paste ALL the following bold blue text in the Quote box below:

Files to delete:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\sfsync02.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\qwieidfo.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ivhnjpps.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\rsyvkgpo.exe

Then click on 'Done'.
Click the Traffic Light icon to start the program.
Then press OK at the prompts to reboot your PC.

Post the Avenger output.txt, which you can find at C:\Avenger\.txt into your next reply.

*************************

Download/install AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5.

Please follow these instructions very carefully.

Launch/start up AVG Anti-Spyware.
On the main page click the 'Update' tab,and then 'Start Update'.
Note:
If you have any problems running the update process prior to running the scan,download/install the 'Full Database' from here:
http://download.ewido.net/avgas-signatures-full-current.exe

Once the updates have been installed,do the following:
Select the 'Scanner' icon at the top of the screen, then select the 'Settings' tab.
Once in the 'Settings' screen, under 'How to act?',then under 'Set default action for detected malware to:', click on 'Recommended actions',then click on 'Quarantine'.
Under 'Reports' select 'Automatically generate report after every scan' and unselect 'Only if threats were found'.
Exit AVG Anti-Spyware,don't run the scan just yet.

You might want to print/copy the following as you need to be in Safe Mode from here on.

Reboot your computer into SAFE MODE using the F8 method.
To do this, restart your computer and after hearing your computer beep once during startup (but before the Windows icon appears) press the F8 key repeatedly.
A menu will appear with several options.
Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate and select the option to run Windows in "Safe Mode".

Have Hijack This fix the following [If still present], by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and selecting 'Fix checked'.
Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {B71FA585-B351-4E48-8DA8-22F6F705EC73} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\pmnllif.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {E0E41E2E-50A4-44BF-975A-2990B7BD20C2} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\pmkhg.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {EF5AF5CB-DF63-4DF0-9F94-8EFCFA93ED13} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mljjk.dll (file missing)

Still in Safe Mode launch AVG Anti-Spyware.
Click the 'Scanner' icon at the top.
To start the scan click on 'Complete System Scan'.
Please be patient,it takes a while for the scan to finish.

Once the scan is complete,do the following.
If AVG Anti-Spyware detected any infected objects:,click on 'Apply All Actions'.

Next click on 'Save Report'.
Copy and paste that report into your next reply.
The report can be found under the 'Reports' tab at the top.
Close AVG Anti-Spyware when you've done.
Reboot normally.

Post the AVG Anti Spyware report and a new Hijackthis log into your next reply.
Let me know how your pc is running now please.

Hi, thanks for the quick response.
here is the Avenger output:

Logfile of The Avenger version 1, by Swandog46
Running from registry key:
\Registry\Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\yextbcoy

*******************

Script file located at: \??\C:\Documents and Settings\rmbskkys.txt
Script file opened successfully.

Script file read successfully

Backups directory opened successfully at C:\Avenger

*******************

Beginning to process script file:

File C:\WINDOWS\system32\sfsync02.dll deleted successfully.
File C:\WINDOWS\system32\qwieidfo.exe deleted successfully.
File C:\WINDOWS\system32\ivhnjpps.dll deleted successfully.
File C:\WINDOWS\system32\rsyvkgpo.exe deleted successfully.

Completed script processing.

*******************

Finished! Terminate.

I couldn't start the PC in safe mode however, the drivers loaded on the screen, then froze for half an hour before I restarted. Because of this I haven't followed any of your further instructions yet.

Regards, Andy.

P.S. The PC does seem to be performing a lot better than it was, I haven't seen any pop-ups today and start-up time is definatley faster, I'm still unsure if it is fully remvoed though.

Thanks for all your help, if I could just check with you from the last HJT log, the file C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuauclt.exe is ok? I noticed on this website is mentions this file can be malicious.

Also from the HJT log, do you have any idea what this loads:
O16 - DPF: {238F6F83-B8B4-11CF-8771-00A024541EE3} - http://a516.g.akamai.net/f/516/25175/7d/ru...cat-no-eula.cab

And am I able to remvoe the entries that say (file missing) on the HJT log?

Thanks again for the help, Andy.
