After a new bootup this morning my DVD writer has disapeared from "My Computer"
Anyone have a clue where it's gone?
The DVD writer will open but will not read or write.

open disk management go to... Menu----> run----> diskmgmt.msc and check to see if the drive is there. Let us know what you find.

A friend of mine told me to shut down my pc and then uninstall the drive and then reboot.
Then shut down again to reinstall the drive.
This worked, my drive is up and running and back in "My Computer".

Thanks, Don
