I recently had to run the restore discs and re-install Windows XP, this was about a week ago. Everything was great. I ran all the updates from windows and upgraded the IE browser. A couple of days later I was using it and all of a sudden the screen went black and I got:
Load Error!
No Bootable CD in ATAPI CD-ROMing Boot CD-ROM
No Bootable CD in ATAPI CD-ROM

Load Error!
Press any key to reboot.....

And, of course, when I press any button the error just duplicates.
So I restored again and it looked like everything was fine. I went to re-install XP and it looked like everything was fine. It was installing and then it just turned off. Now, when I turn it back on and put the "Compaq Operating System CD, Microsoft Windows XP Home" in it gives me this:

Load Error!
Boot CD-ROM Type: Non-Emulation BootingD-ROM

Press any key to boot from CD....

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you in advance.

Re-enter the hard drive as the first boot device in the BIOS and reboot. What error does it show then?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around

I'm sorry, I don't understand. How do I re-enter the hard drive as the first boot device in BIOS?
