Windows Media Wont Install

two months ago my windows media player quit working when i went to install windows media 11 i got tfncky.exe failed try reinstalling might fix this problem i also got a msvfw32.dll error i recently tried to install a plug and play printer and the same error has popped up i called tech support they suggested doing a system restore to an earlier date i tried that for some reason my computer wont go back to the date i choose i am not real savvy about computers and i am really frustrated at this point on how to fix this any help would be appreciated

To fix the msvfw32.dll error (this fix will only work with a full version of XP os)go to the command prompt type in sfc /scannow
and insert your xp disk when requested as for tfncky.exe error I will have to look for a fix later but here is some info http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/T...y.exe-5722.html
