I`m not sure what i have going on with my PC. First off about once a day my Trend Micro says it is shut off since i`m the only one on it i know i`m not doing it. senond is i down loaded the beta version of MS spyware remover and everymorning it`s wanting to remove a thing called "E2give". i remove it and run a new scan and nothing.I think i have something going on but just can`t figure it out. here is a copy of my log.

Hi Bubbahunter

You are running HijackThis from a Temp directory, which means that it hasn't been unzipped. If you fix anything with HijackThis that way backups that may be needed later will not get made. So before we continue we need to correct that. The easiest way to do that is to delete your copy of HijackThis.zip and follow the instructions in This Tutorial that will unzip HJT for you.

Then please do the following--You may want to print out these instructions or save them to your desktop as a text file with Notepad because some of these actions are to be performed in Safe Mode and you won't have access to the internet:

1. Boot your computer into Safe Mode. Use the F8 method.

2. Click Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Uninstall the following if found:

E2give
E2give Plug-in

3. Please make sure that you can view all hidden files. Instructions on how to do this can be found here: How to see hidden files in Windows

4. Place a checkmark next to these entries, close all browsers and windows--you should only see HijackThis on your desktop--and have HijackThis fix them by clicking Fix Checked:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/...rch/search.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/...//www.yahoo.com
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/...//www.yahoo.com
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/...rch/search.html
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/...//www.yahoo.com
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/...//www.yahoo.com
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [pruthct] C:\WINDOWS\System32\pruthct.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [prutjct] C:\WINDOWS\System32\prutjct.exe

5. Using My Computer/Windows Explorer, navigate to the C:\WINDOWS\System32 folder and delete these two files if present:

pruthct.exe
prutjct.exe

6. REBOOT back into normal mode and perform these two on-line virus scans: (delete all that they find.)

BitDefender
Panda

7. REBOOT, scan again with HijackThis and post a new log. Please include any feedback, problems encountered or anything else that might be helpful.

Congratulations Bub,

Your log is clean. In order to keep it that way please follow these recommendations:

1. Disable System Restore and then re-enable it to purge any malware it may have backed up. See our tutorial for instructions:

System Restore Guide.

2. Your version of AdAware6 is outdated. Uninstall your current version and download the latest AdAware SE version from my signature. Update it and use it weekly. Proper set-up instructions are here: How to use AdAware SE

Important tips on how to protect your system are provided here:
How to protect your system

Glad I could help.
