Ok so, I Have deluxe comm on my computer as well. When I follow the instructions listed on deleteing it manually, I get errors:

1. go to the control panel and find the program in Add/remove programs.

2. Delete it

When i do this, i find the program in the listing however when i go to delete it, it states that there is an error and that the program might have already been deleted "would you like to remove this program from the list". Essentially it doesnt even delete the program because its sitting in my Program Files folder

or:

enter C:\Program Files\DeluxeCommunications\Dxc.exe /u in the run command

When i enter this code in, i receive an error stating that the file path is incorrect. So, in neither cases am i able to remove the program

This is my HJT log if it might help :

At This point I'm really running out of faith and options for removing this program. Any ideas would be of great help.

Welcome to the BleepingComputer HijackThis Logs and Analysis forum phizzco

You've used Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.0 (BETA) to post your log,
As with any BETA software it's not to be trusted,so please uninstall/delete it.

Download and install Hijackthis.
This is a self-extracting version which will automatically install HJT to C:\Program Files\Hijackthis by default.
A desktop shortcut can be created during install under 'Select Additional Tasks'

**************************

Viewpoint Manager is considered as foistware instead of malware since it is installed without users approval but doesn't spy or do anything "bad".
This will change from what we know in 2006 read this article:
http://www.clickz.com/news/article.php/3561546

You are well advised to remove the program now.
Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following programs if present:

Viewpoint
Viewpoint Manager
Viewpoint Media Player

Then restart your pc.

**************************

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
When VundoFix re-opens,click the "Scan for Vundo" button.
Once it's done scanning, click the "Remove Vundo" button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click "YES".
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed,it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click "OK".
Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt into your next reply.

Note:
It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case,VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.

**************************

Please download Combofix and save to your desktop:
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/Beta/ComboFix.exe
Note:
It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop

Close any open browsers.
Double click on combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's finished it will produce a log.
Post the C:\ComboFix.txt into your next reply.
Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running.
That may cause the program to freeze/hang.

**************************

Download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri), to your desktop.
Double click on Smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 – Search, by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy and paste the content of that report into your next reply.

*IMPORTANT:*
Do NOT run any other options until you are asked to do so!

**************************

Also post a new Hijackthis log please.
