I have been alerted by my antivirus program that my computer is infected by the trojan TROJ_RENOS.Y
I have run Trendmicro Housecall which has attempted to remove the trojan, but failed.
A warning device has appeared on the taskbar inviting me to down load specific software to remove spyware it "has detected". I have not activated the software.
Can anyone advise me how to remove this trojan?

If you are sure you have removed all malware, you should remove restore points as some will be infected.
It is also a good idea to clean temporary files and logs, too.

Turn off system restore. This will remove all restore points since some are infected . Turn system restore back on.

Remove temporary files, logs, cookies, etc. by using Ccleaner. Do not use "Advanced Settings" or the "Issues" button. Use only the default settings. http://www.ccleaner.com/
