Recently my brother came into town + told me about a program he uses at home.
It's called RegSeeker+is for Windows.
I checked it out at MajorGeeks.com. It sounds like a good idea but...I don't know that I'm supposed to mess with my registry at all!
Can someone please tell me what exactly this does+how it does it?
Thank you

Moved from Windows XP Home and Professional forums to the more appropriate.

This review of RegSeeker by SnapFiles should provide you with some good information, complete with screenshots and User Opinions.

Thanks for the info TMacK.
So....there seem to be mixed reviews, as with anything else. If I am running a disk clean up+defrag, along with all my other virus scans, do I really need this program also?
All the reviews state that a novice shouldn't use this program...sigh.
The write up at MajorGeeks.com made it sound like it was safe+simple to use.
Not sure if I really need this or not now.

It is important to take extreme care when working with the Registry as modifying it incorrectly can cause problems with the use of your operating system.

For more information have a look at the BC tutorial; Demystifying the Windows Registry.
