For the last week I have had to type in the http:// in the web address where as before it wasn't required. I just found out if I type in the web address without http and wait about a minute it will go to the address. Also when I hit the down arrow on the address bar after first starting IE6 it also takes two minutes or so to bring up my previously visited addresses. Once it does there is no further time delay. Also takes forever when I click on my computer to give me a listing of my drives. Can anyone help? I saw a similar post back in April of 2006 - ran HiJack but what the person was told to look for wasn't in mine.

Hello jd83 and welcome to the BC HijackThis forum. I don't see any signs of viruses or malware in the log. It is clean.

This issue has been reported by Microsoft to be a conflict with one of their security updates and the HP Share-To-Web software. See this link for steps on how to resolve it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918165/en-us

If that doesn't take care of the problem then I would suggest posting in the Web Browsing/Email and Other Internet Applications forum and let the techs there take a look at the browser and shell settings. They are the ones who specialize in matters pertaining to internet application issues. Let them know that you have been to this forum and that no malware was found.

When posting to any other forum, do not post a HijackThis log or the post will simply be moved back to this forum for infection analysis. That is what HijackThis is used for and that is what we specialize in here in this forum.

Also, when posting in any other forum for assistance, give as much detail as possible regarding any issues that are occurring. The more information they have, the better the techs can analyze the issue and make any recommendations for resolving it.

Cheers.

I do not respond to PM's requesting help. That's what the forums are here for. Please use them so that others may benefit from your questions and the responses you receive.
