Hi

I am new at this. THe PC in question is used by my daughters with the websites visited generally being Myspace and msn. I have five user accounts set up.

I have Adaware and HiJackthis and recently, when this problem first came apparent, purchased a copy of Spyware Doctor.

Set out below is the Hijackthis log file. I see a lot of new system32 elements in the 04 area that I have never seen before?

The major elements taht Spydoctor pick up are Trojan : ConHook and DiscCleaner

Twenty four hours after running Spydoctor they all come back. Is this fixable or do I need to reinstall?

Welcome to the BleepingComputer HijackThis Logs and Analysis forum Rodzilla

It appears you've no virus protection installed.
Download\install one of the following freeware options from the choice below.
Once installed update its definitions and then run a full system virus scan.

AVG7 Free Edition Antivirus:
http://free.grisoft.com/softw/70free/setup...ree_446a965.exe

Avast! 4 Home Edition:
http://files.avast.com/iavs4pro/setupeng.exe

Active Virus Shield
There's a nice setup tutorial Here:
http://www.activevirusshield.com/antivirus/freeav/

*****************************

Copy and paste the following bold blue text in the Quote box below into Notepad.
Click on File(in the menu at the top)>Save as..Save as Type: 'All Files' File name: fix.reg to your desktop.
Then double click on the fix.reg file on your desktop and agree to merge it into the registry, then reboot.

REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows]
"AppInit_DLLs"=-

*****************************

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
When VundoFix re-opens,click the "Scan for Vundo" button.
Once it's done scanning, click the "Remove Vundo" button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click "YES".
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed,it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click "OK".
Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt into your next reply.

Note:
It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case,VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.

*****************************

Please download Combofix and save to your desktop:
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/Beta/ComboFix.exe
Note:
It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop

Close any open browsers.
Double click on combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's finished it will produce a log.
Post the C:\ComboFix.txt into your next reply.
Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running.
That may cause the program to freeze/hang.

Also post a new Hijackthis log please.

Hi

Firstly thank you for all the help you have already given me.

I have run all the files in the seqence.

Already the system appears substantially faster during the opening process.

Please find below the requested combofix and hijack files as requested.

One quick question : Should I disable the Spyware Doctor programme I have and run with AVG or does Spyware Doctor still have some use?

Combofix File

Your pc is infected with at least one Backdoor Trojan.
Backdoor Trojans are extremely dangerous because they provide a means of accessing a computer system that bypasses security mechanisms. Remote attackers use backdoor Trojans as part of an exploit to to gain unauthorized access to a computer and take control of it without your knowledge.
If your computer was used for online banking or has credit card information on it,all passwords should be changed immediately to include those used for email, eBay and forums.
You should consider them to be compromised.
They should be changed by using a different computer and not the infected one,if not an attacker may get the new passwords and transaction information.
Banking and credit card institutions should be notified of the possible security breech.

Reboot your computer into SAFE MODE using the F8 method.
To do this, restart your computer and after hearing your computer beep once during startup (but before the Windows icon appears) press the F8 key repeatedly.
