Google - Free Photo Organizing Software. Google released free software Tuesday for organizing and finding the hundreds or thousands of digital photos often stored on a computer's hard drive.Using technology developed by Picasa Inc, the new software will try to make keeping a photo collection and editing pictures simple even for beginners Picasa initially cost $29 but became a free download after its acquisition by Google. Version 2 of Picasa will also be a free download. Picasa 2 is available only for Windows computer and requires Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser, version 5.01 or higher, or Mozilla Firefox.

Relatively small download - I expected a much larger file.

(But my D/L was only 3.062 Mb - wonder what I'm missing now?)

I've already found my favorite toggle - "I'm feeling lucky"!

At first look it's got to be better than M$ "My Pictures" file and photo editior in Win XP.
(Realized of course, I don't do much photo editing.) :flowers:

Hi Koan

Mine came out at 3.something Mb d/load too - think it's OK.

I'm going to have fun now! Thanks for pointing this out.

I tried the first version of the Google freebie, and didn't like it (and am still finding some of its files all over the places I normally store pictures). Guess I will try the second version to see if it is better.
Cheers,
John

Neat thing is that it searches more than one hard drive.
