When I first start the computer it seems to work fine and I can listen to music etc and use the volume bar on taskbar but after about 30mins or so when I try to listen to anything or watch a video im getting no sound at all.

If I go to the sound bar slider I get the usual ping noise but if I double click it I get a pop up box saying it is unable to detect any soundblaster sound card??? I updated the driver but it's still the same.

I need to restart (although the shutting down tune plays) my computer for the sound to come back on and if I double click the volume application again I get the volume menu but a wee while later it does the same thing....

I've also just noticed that about 5mins after I boot up and get to desktop the screen flashes back to the classic destop theme then flashes back to the standard xp theme. and from there it does the above.

anyone have a clue whats up??
ive got XP home. I havent installed anything new except Adobe reader 8 and re-installed office 2003 and a few auto xp updates the computer does automatically.
