I am running a repair on a laptop with XP home and the repair is running painfully slow... seriously, I started it over an hour and a half ago and it has only gone down from 39 minutes to 34 minutes. The laptop was turning itself off after twenty minutes before... but I'm not sure of the problem. Any ideas?

Sounds like it could be a bad hard drive - try downloading a bootable diagnostic from the hard drive manufacturer's website.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
