Hi everyone,

I've tried pretty much all that I can but still cannot figure out what is causing my computer to freeze.

The problem has been going on for about 2 weeks now. At first I thought it might be an internet problem. I use a laptop and this computer is being used at two different locations. In one location (Location A), the internet is slow and I hardly have any freezing problem. In the other location (Location :thumbsup:, which is the one I'm using now, has a faster internet connection but that's when all the freezing happens. Then I realized when I run Windows Live Messenger in Location A my computer freezes. I thought it was the messenger problem so I uninstalled it but that didn't do anything.

I ran Spybot S&D 1.4, Ad-Aware, AVG Anti-virus, and even Stringer (all either recommended or found through Bleepingcomputer.com) and each has told me there are some type of virus found. Unfortunately I don't remember the exact viruses that were found. A few that I remembered are seagatecom.exe, GameSetup.exe (or something like that), a couple Worm/Delf and other worms. These files are either quarantined or successfully removed but still do not solve the freezing problem. I haven't installed anything new since 2 weeks ago except with the additional anti-virus and anti-spyware softwares and have cleaned as much as I can of my computer. I even defragmented and used a registry cleaner. I ran out of things to try and don't know whether or not it's still malware that's causing the problem.

I can run the computer fine for various periods of time and then the computer will freeze. Mostly beginning with the taskmanager. If I try to further do something to the computer the whole thing will freeze.

I was recommended to run the HiJackThis so this is it. I noticed there is something related to Yahoo! SBC. This computer is 6 years old and have been reformatted a few times and the SBC was an old file that I don't use any more.

I hope there is enough information here! Thanks in advance for helping!

Attached is the HiJackThis log:

Welcome to the BleepingComputer HijackThis Logs and Analysis forum crazyluna82 :thumbsup:

Before we can provide you with any further assistance,you first need to go here and install Service Pack 1;
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloa...p1/default.mspx
This will patch numerous security vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer and the Windows operating system.
As your machine stands right now it's exremely vulnerable to infection.
You need to get these updates installed first before we can proceed or we’ll both be wasting our time.

Note:
Do not install Service pack 2.
If you install SP 2 on an infected machine it will cause serious problems within the operating system.

When you've finished the above,post a new Hijackthis log into your next reply.
