Hi everyone,

I would like to build a website in PHP/mySQL but have no idea what to do for the website.

My main purpose is to strengthen/hone my programming skills. Everything will start from scratch, need some suggestion from you people as I can't really think of any.

Of course, not too difficult ones. I've done before something like www.blogspot.com.

Any suggestion would be much appreciated.

Thanks & Regards,
Joseph

Learn PHP before you tackle mysql. PHP.net actually has a fairly easy to follow tutorial here:

Gotta just keep working at it. Set a goal and create it. Ask questions, read php.net documentation, make test programs etc till you start learning it.

It is how I did it

Yeah. I know I have to keep doing and doing till I get it. That's how programming works isn't it.

Am not sure which or what kind of goal should I set.

Think of an application you would like to make and make it. Whether it be an application where you can have a database of books read, cd owned, movies watched. Who cares...
