I am making a music/backup server for my house. (ostentatious, I know)

I will be using the distribution SME Server as I was told it is free and lighter on resources than windows.

Is there any kind of tutorial or crash course I can take a look at before I'm up and running?

The only thing like linux I ever used was Cygwin which was way too complicated for me, hopefully this isn't as hard.

As always, thanks in advance!
