If you are having problems receiving topic notifications when someone replies to a topic you are subscribed to, make sure that you are not using delayed notification.

Essentially delayed notification will make it so that the forums will not send out a notification if you are active at the site within the last 15-20 minutes.

Immediate notification, on the other hand, will send out a new email regardless of whether you are active or not.

So if you are subscribed to a topic and are not receiving notifications, you may want to unsubscribe and resubscribe using immediate notifications.

You can also change your default notification type in your email preferences.
