Ever since I downloaded and installed IE7......and I have done it twice, I have a problem with saving photos sent to my outlook express 6 email when sent to me by an AOL user.

I used to be able to right click and save the photo's but now can not do it. I right click and get a message System can not find the file specified. I click the help button and get a message saying
"Cannot find C:\windows\system32\shtml.hlp help file.

I have tried to find a place to download this file by searching and can't find it.

Anyone here have any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

A quick internet search didn't turn up any info on shtml.hlp. Have you tried searching on your Windows disks for this file?

Hi starlite,

To get further information about the error look in your Event viewer.

Click start > run > type "eventvwr.msc" without the 2 quote.

You should be able to see Event Viewer popup.

Any errors logged in the Event Viewer can be expanded by double clicking on the error line.

If you still have the XP cd you can copy this file from the i386 folder from the cd into the system32 folder, and you should be ok

I belive this thread discusses your issue as well. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/66693/missing-file-cwindowssystem32mshtmlhlp/. Also when I search for mshtml.hlp. in Google. I find that this is a common error with IE7 and OE6. It seems that many fixes are to uninstall IE7 go back to IE6 use IE6 a few times then reinstall IE7, and that often works. There does not seem to be a definative fix at this time. More of a try this or that approach until it's resolved.
