Hello. My name is Rick, and I have a browser hijacker that is causing me fits. I have used a spyware/adware removal program that has taken everything out except this hijacker. The program identifies the hijacker, quarantines it, but won't delete it. The item is identified as "C:Windows\Temp\sp.dll > Browser Hijacker."
It won't go away. I've contacted the vendor, but I have not received a response yet. Help!

Hi rick and welcome to the site. To remove this you are going to want to do the following steps:

Create a directory on your hardrive, to save HijackThis.exe, called c:\hijackthis. This is a mandatory step, for the backup and restore functions, of HijackThis, to be able to work.

Download the latest version, from here.

Read the pinned post in the HJT forum, here

Then, run a log, and post it in the HJT forum. Do not fix anything, yet.
A member, of the HJT Team, will help you out.
Please, be patient, these people are volunteers. They will help you out, as soon as possible.

Hi everyone. I stumbled across this site today while reading a computing mag at the hospital, while waiting with my Mom. She's having surgery on Monday. Closet Geek here for years. Looking forward to helping and being helped with my bleeping computer.

Hello and wecome, tanks for joining us.
How do I get help? Who is helping me?For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear....Become a BleepingComputer fan: Facebook
