I'm building a new computer, and I have an old one that has XP on it, that I will soon be taking out of service and using it for some parts (HDD, FDD, ect). Is it possible, after XP is removed and the hard drive is erased, to use the XP CD that we used with that one to install XP on my new one?

If the XP on the old computer is an OEM version, It cannot be legally moved.

What you can do is move the hard drive, and do a repair install from the cd, which will also solve the itunes move question listed here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/92770/is-it-possible-to-swap-itunes-music-between-pcs/

Here is a link for the repair install instructions: http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

Just make sure that the drive jumpers are not changed, Master must remain master, cable select must remain cable select.
The name says it all -- 59 and holding permanently
