some of my Google search results are being diverted to elsewhere when clicked. So something isactive.

Diverted to places like:

Install Super Antispyware. Run it in safe mode. Allow it to quarantine whatever it finds.

Run the online scan for Bit Defender in normal mode. Allow it to quarantine whatever it finds.

No need to start multiple topics.

Without more info the best you can do is post a Hijack This log in the Hijack This Forum. NOT here.
Use the link in my first post for directions to post the log.

You could check the programs in your Add/Remove program and see if there is anything there that could be causing the problem. Google them if you don't recognize the program. Same with addons in IE.
