Okay, first of all, I used to have pop-ups up the wazoo. I mean, they were nuts. I got pop-ups when I wasn't even in a web browser. /cry

Now everything seems okay, but my various spyware searching programs say otherwise. I guess I just need an expert's opinion on if my computer is all right now (I can't tell what all these abbreviations are!). Supposedly I have a bunch of various trojans on my computer, but I have no idea what to look for.

Welcome to the BleepingComputer HijackThis Logs and Analysis forum Stegy

Viewpoint Manager is considered as foistware instead of malware since it is installed without users approval but doesn't spy or do anything "bad".

Download KillBox,unzip/extract it to your desktop.
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/spyware/KillBox.zip
Start up Killbox and place a check in 'Delete on Reboot'.
In the 'Full path of file to delete' box, copy and paste:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\tuvstro.dll.vir

Then press the red button with the white cross.
It will then provide a window for you to confirm the delete.
Next it will ask if you now wish to reboot, select YES.
Allow it to reboot.
If it does'nt reboot automatically, reboot manually.

****************************

Download/install AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5.

Please follow these instructions very carefully.

Launch/start up AVG Anti-Spyware.
On the main page click the 'Update' tab,and then 'Start Update'.
Note:
If you have any problems running the update process prior to running the scan,download/install the 'Full Database' from here:
http://download.ewido.net/avgas-signatures-full-current.exe

Once the updates have been installed,do the following:
Select the 'Scanner' icon at the top of the screen, then select the 'Settings' tab.
Once in the 'Settings' screen, under 'How to act?',then under 'Set default action for detected malware to:', click on 'Recommended actions',then click on 'Quarantine'.
Under 'Reports' select 'Automatically generate report after every scan' and unselect 'Only if threats were found'.
Exit AVG Anti-Spyware,don't run the scan just yet.

You might want to print/copy the following as you need to be in Safe Mode from here on.

Reboot your computer into SAFE MODE using the F8 method.
To do this, restart your computer and after hearing your computer beep once during startup (but before the Windows icon appears) press the F8 key repeatedly.
A menu will appear with several options.
Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate and select the option to run Windows in "Safe Mode".

Have Hijack This fix the following [If still present], by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and selecting 'Fix checked'.
Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing:

Find and delete:
C:\Program Files\Viewpoint
C:\Documents and Settings\me\Application Data\SpywareBot

Still in Safe Mode launch AVG Anti-Spyware.
Click the 'Scanner' icon at the top.
To start the scan click on 'Complete System Scan'.
Please be patient,it takes a while for the scan to finish.

Once the scan is complete,do the following.
If AVG Anti-Spyware detected any infected objects:,click on 'Apply All Actions'.

Next click on 'Save Report'.
Copy and paste that report into your next reply.
The report can be found under the 'Reports' tab at the top.
Close AVG Anti-Spyware when you've done.

Have Hijack This fix the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and selecting 'Fix checked'.
Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SNM] C:\Program Files\SpyNoMore\SNM.exe /startup

Exit Hijackthis, find and delete if present:
C:\Program Files\SpyNoMore
Restart your pc.

*********************

You’re running msconfig in Auto mode which means that you may have selectively unchecked some items in the past from starting up with Windows.
This can be bad if they’re malware, so please re-enable those startup entries by doing the following:
Click on Start>Run,type msconfig and then press Enter.
When the ‘System Configuration Utility’ opens click on the ‘Startup’ tab, make sure all the boxes are checkmarked.
Then press Apply/Ok to exit the utility.
If it asks you to restart your pc,please don’t,it‘s not necessary to reboot to get the items to show in the Hijackthis log.

Post a new Hijackthis log in your next reply.
Let me know how your pc is running now.

My computer seems a lot better now, although getting everything to load on my desktop is a bit slow. Once everything is all there, however, it's just as fast as it used to be. Is there anything still dangerous on my computer?

My computer is incredibly slow now. It takes forever to load all the desktop items I have now, and just now it took me a very long time to load up Microsoft Word, copy the above information, and post it here. /cry

Ok,lets try this:

Download 'e Scan MWAV' from here to your desktop:
http://www.mwti.net/download/tools/mwav.exe
Disconnect from the internet, close any open programs.
Double click on the mwav icon on your desktop.
The program will start, the Licence Agreement will pop up.
Select 'I accept the agreement',then press Ok.
The program will open, leave all the settings as they are.
Now press the 'Scan & Clean' button.
The program will now start scanning your pc.
Once the scan has finished, post the results from the lower window 'Virus Log Information'.

*********************

Download 'Blacklight Beta graphical user interface version' to your desktop:
https://europe.f-secure.com/blacklight/try.shtml
Accept the agreement, then download the program.
Click on Blacklight Beta on your desktop, accept that agreement, then hit Scan.
You'll see a list of all items found.
Don't choose rename yet!
I want to see the log first, legit items may be present.
There will be a log on your desktop with the name 'fsbl---log'
Post the contents of that log in your next reply.

Computer seems faster now, but it goes from frustrating-ly slow to "omg?" fast.

Eh, it's going. Sometimes it takes a long time to load, but sometimes I can load web pages pretty fast. It's been temporarily freezing up on me, like when I type on a message board it'll freeze and then all the words will come on the screen at once. Starting the computer up, however, takes like five minutes. I think it's because I have downloaded so many programs.

Click on Start/Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs and remove all the following, then restart your pc:
AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5
Counterspy V2
SUPERAntiSpyware

Let me know if that made any difference.

Yep, everything seems to be working just like new. It started up quickly and it doesn't click as much as it used to. =D
