Is there anywhere I can get a DVD decoder for free that is not a virus?

I use Media Player Classic to watch DVDs

It lets you play DVD's on your computer. If you don't have one microsoft tells you you need to get one.

No,but i think you'll have to buy for that...
The mega codec packs are free but a bit confusing and could be loaded with malware

Usually when you buy a new CD/DVD/COMBO drive,it comes with a cd
one of these could be nero or Power DVD or get both or you may also get other cds
Get nero then install the program,you now have the DVD decoder installed

But the dvd decoder i have is a plug-in for wmp
currently i have wmp11 & MPEG-2 SVCD/DVD PLUG-IN (the plug-in i use for dvd)
So if you have wmp of any version,then have the plug-in,you will be able to play dvds
the only hard thing is getting the plug-in :thumbsup:
im not quite sure if you can by the cd separately though...

An alternative is the K-lite codec pack (freeware) that has a DVD decoder.
