3d Virtual Earth Rendering Issues

Virtual earth does not render correctly in 3D.

If I try to zoom close in, I get a blurry low-res image and strange visual issues. Otherwise it is fine.

I don't know if this matters, but the photosynth tech preview also does not work (does not display images over the dot cloud). Perhaps they share some common corrupted component?
