If you are currently trying to get to the latest version of it (which i see is a trial version of Windvd)
version 8 Platinum
clike here and download the setup
Homepage
Or are you trying to get a free version of Windvd?

delete your current setup and cancel your installation process

Does a window keep appearing?
What site did you get the software?

Sounds like the entry was not updated...
Try uninstaller softwares
here in this site: http://www.hot-shareware.com/utilities/uninstaller.html
Check if the program is there on the list then uninstall it

you manually deleted Windvd already?
Didn't run the uninstall shield wizard...

So,any more problems to take care of?

Oh ok
Download CCleaner seen on the right side of the panel
Go to "startup" in CCleaner then find the entry which corresponds to the program(which is the one that keeps appearing on startup which is windvd if i am correct?) and delete it then reboot, tell me if it is still there
Note:Be careful on deleting, don't delete other entrys because some of them are essential to your system
Deleting the entry that corresponds to that program will stop it from appearing in startup the next time you reboot

Cricital Info:http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericDocument?docname=c00218731&dlc=en&lc=en&cc=us&printable=yes&encodeUrl=true&
Refined search in Google: Windvd appears at startup

WinDVD has compatablity issues with SP2 unless the following update (SP26379) is installed: Intervideo WinDVD Update (in English).

If the update (SP26379) is installed, the issue may be resolved
Do so by going to the Windows Update Site and find the update

Another related site:

still finding the info....

Try updating your system now,go to start>settings>control panel>Security Center>then click on the 2nd option which is :Check for the latest updates from Windows Updates"
Note you will need IE6/IE7 to do this
If the site prompts you to install any active x click run
then click on express then wait till the progress is done
Click on the details butoon
then you'll see a list of updates
try finding the "SP26379" update from the list
then download
