I have used Windows Media Player before to rip cds and then burn them, so I actually know how to do it. I haven't ripped a cd in quite some time but decided to rip and burn a few that I have for my daughter. I put the cd in and hit the rip tab and it does nothing. Could it be that the cd is "unrippable"???? I have been working on this for hours and hope someone can tell me what i need to do.

Does WMP manage to play the CD? Occasionally a certain CD won't play on a particular drive... maybe worth trying another optical drive, if you have one.

No it won't even play the cd. Is there any other way that I can rip the cds? Any other software that you would suggest?

Try CDex, a free ripper/converter from SourceForge. Although if WMP will not even play the CD, it may not work either.
I finally got it all together, now if I could just remember where I put it.

Might I suggest EAC? Exact Audio Copy. Maybe that will work for you.

Also check here for some others.
