Hi,

I was just wondering if the free music editing software, Audacity is actually any good but more importantly free from malware???

Im looking at mixing tracks and slowing down certain music to make 'Mega mixes' if you will, for a party. Pretty much like when you see Nirvana vs Destinys Child on MTV etc.......

Plus can i record live radio????

Thanks

It is in BC's list of freeware:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic3616.html

Applications in this list have been used by our Members, so you can count on them working as advertised and their being malware-free.

It is always wise to research any application with which you are unfamiliar before downloading and installing it, especially when it is free.

Hi vicmax,

I use Audacity. It is easy to use and works well. Don't forget to get the plugins.

PS... I have never used it for anything "live"

http://www.nsftools.com/misc/TapeToCD.htm I put this on another thread, maybe the wrong place ,but this is a great tutorial for using Audacity.
If you adjust the base don't use the default setting , I think you'll want far less. I had never recorded before and just going by the tutorial I succeeded the first try.

These might help a little more.

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/windows one of several plugins.
Lame Allows Audacity to export MP3 files.

They allow Audacity to have more fuctions. Just as dribdrab said, the Lame encoder allows Audacity to export MP3 files - needed if you want to save your work as an mp3.
