Hi there.
New user, with a big problem.
My wife downloaded some files for her degree work and opened them up and this is where the trouble started
I had to re-setup my e-mail accounts on Outlook Express, and when I started up IE7, a faint outline of IE appeared and then vanished. I reverted back to IE6, and now it works, after a fashion. Clickable links do not open, I can not copy and paste, and in Outlook, I can get e-mails but not send, and clickable links do not work there as well.

I now also have no sound now. All I get is a "BEEP", like you get in start up during POST, but my drivers are all installed, and apparrently working fine.

Some applications do not open, I get the "BEEP", and an error message tells me "Low MEM".

I ran Avast, and it found 3 worms/Trojans, which I got rid of.

I tried a system restore, as Admin, but a button for it is not there, under START > PROGRAMS > ACCESSORIES > SYSTEM TOOLS. I checked in CONTROL PANEL > SYSTEM and restore is there, turned on, and monitering, I just can't accsess it.

I really do not want to do a full re-format and install........

Can anybody help me please?
