I was trying to uncheck some of the programs from msconfig startup so that my computer would boot more quickly. However, whenever I uncheck a box and click apply (i would do one box at a time) I get this error:

an access denied error was returned while attempting to change a service. You may need to log on using an administrator account to make the specified changes

Does anyone have any suggestions because I am the administrator on this computer?

Try booting to Safe mode and running msconfig.

Easier and safer to work with:
Start up Control Panel
Codestuff Starter

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
