Heyyyy

So I apologize like everyone else if this is in the wrong forum ...

I am on myspace and can't view the videos/songs on my page. It comes up with a message on the actual page which reads ...

"Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player. Click here to get the latest flash player. "

So, I click there and go through the process to download. I do everything it says to on the page and nothing happens. So, I went by myself to tucows.com to download it and couldn't find what I needed so I tried the JavaScript. All I knew to do was to go to control panel, internet options and everything that said Java disabled I turned to enabled and still it doesn't work.

Pleaseeee help. I'm frustrated !

The usual fix for Adobe Flash Player is to uninstall ALL Adobe Flash players using the special uninstaller and reinstalling flash. The uninstaller is in the link below.

Also, check your Add/Remove program and remove any older versions of Macromedia flash.

Ok so I uninstalled. Now still clicking on the link that tells me to install (on myspace) doesn't work. The link opens but nothing starts to install.

Download site:

You can also run the Secunia scan to find leftover flash files. Go to the file locations and delete them to the recycle bin.

What else have you done besides clicking on a download link? Have you reviewed ALL the trouble shooting info?
Did you run the Secunia scan?

I tried to run Secunia but it came up saying ...

Status / Currently Processing:
There might be problems loading the Java Applet in your browser.

I read through the Troubleshooting but nothing seemed to apply. It's nothing to do with pop-ups etc. Just when I hit Install Now a new page comes up, there is a box with a red x and some instructions and nothing happens.

I think a popup blocker is the problem. You should be seeing a bar across the top of the active screen that asks if you want to allow popup. You can turn off the blocker in IE by clicking on tools and clicking on "turn off popup blocker". You may have other popup blockers such as ones in any browser addons such as Google tool bar. You could also be blocking popups with one of your security programs.
Also, check again the activex settings suggested in the trouble shooting check list.

Let's look at your security programs. Please list them (antispyware, antivirus, security suites) as to whether they are free or purchased. Also, list any addons you have in IE. Check to see if your Java is up to date.
(1.6 or later) That will be the next step to uninstall and reinstall Java.
