i've scanned with ad-aware twice, and spybot search and destroy once.
i still get the popups. it's pornographic stuff, i don't go to porn sites on my own computer.
nothing that i know of triggers them, they just randomly pop-up.
it's not like every minute they come up either, it takes a few hours.

* Please open hijackthis and put a check next to the following:

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/.../search/ie.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/...//www.yahoo.com
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {0BF43445-2F28-4351-9252-17FE6E806AA0} - (no file)

* After you check the items you want to fix, close all browsers and windows, except for HijackThis, then click on the Fix Checked button

* Please download the Killbox by Option^Explicit.

Note: In the event you already have Killbox, this is a new version that I need you to download.
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Please double-click Killbox.exe to run it.
  • Select:
    • Delete on Reboot
    • then Click on the All Files button.
  • Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\iehelper3.dll

  • Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose Paste from Clipboard.
  • Click the red-and-white Delete File button. Click Yes at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click OK at any PendingFileRenameOperations prompt (and please let me know if you receive this message!).
If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run Killbox, click here to download and run missingfilesetup.exe. Then try Killbox again.

1. Download this file - combofix.exe
2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply with a new hijackthis log.

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.

* Please open hijackthis and put a check next to the following:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {E6280729-9251-41D7-BC1C-572C9548C962} - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\HPI3.dll

* After you check the items you want to fix, close all browsers and windows, except for HijackThis, then click on the Fix Checked button on HijackThis.

Please remove this file with killbox:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\HPI3.dll

after that, post a new hijackthis log here and tell me how everything is working.

when trying to delete hp13.ddl thing, i got one of those PendingFileRenameOperations prompts.
i pushed ok, but i don't know if it did anything. killbox just stayed open, instead of rebooting my computer.
