I was wondering how i could install windows without the use of the recovery cd. Both my disk drives are screwed! Have tried a few things to get the disk drives working but to no avail. It says that the drivers are fine but the hardware cannot be detected.

The recovery cd usually contains all the files that you need for a reinstall. The manufacturer may have copied the files onto your computer and placed it in a i386 directory. You can search for a directory called that or options and see if there is a setup.exe that you can run to start the install process.
