Is the information on the MVPS Hosts file "pinned" anywhere on this site?

Maybe it should be?

I know you think you understand what you thought I said,
but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!

Ah,

maybe the big cheese needs a few of us to "whine" about it!

:flowers:

Anyway, as an HJT person, wouldn't you say that the MVPS hosts file could have saved a lot of people some grief, just as locking the hosts file does?

I will ask the Big Cheese to Pin the topic - as far as locking this HOSTS file, it doesn't make it any less likely to be be compromised by a Spyware attack.

hey guys, please exclude these sites from the hosts file

websecurityguard.com, crawler.com and its variants

crawler is a company currently distributing SpywareTerminator and WebSecurityGuard Tool bar . they are blacklisted due to their bad reputation with IBIS LLC distributing adware a while ago.. (people are currently working on getting those websites out of the blocked list..

websecurityguard.com is like McAfee's siteAdvisor (in beta stage now, though)
