Backed To The Past:windows Time Keep Showing 1970!

My system time is showing year 1970, i have no idea since when it started.When i try to change it in control panel,after clicking "APPLY" , it turns back into 1970 again! This prob has been annoying me for weeks,can anyone help me please? Thanks in advance.

Have you changed the CMOS battery, lately?
Open the case, and look for a quarter sized (approximately) battery.
It'll look similar to this:

It will be located on the motherboard.
Take it out, go down to the nearest Radio Shack, or drugstore, buy a new one, and replace it.
Be sure it goes in exactly the same way, the old one came out.
