Hi and welcome to Bleeping Computer! My name is Sam and I will be helping you.

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt even if Vundofix found no infected files.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears upon rebooting.

Also post a new hijackthis log.

Failing to respond back to the person that is giving up their own time to help you not only is insensitive and disrespectful, but it guarantees that you will never receive help from me again. Please thank your helpers and there will always be help here when you need it!

It looks like Vundofix did it's thing, but I still need to see that log.
Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt even if Vundofix found no infected files.

And let's check to be sure we got it all.
Please download ComboFix and save it to your desktop.
Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's done running it will produce a log for you. Please post that log in your next reply.

Important Note - Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.

yer its doing the scan right now thnx :D

another thing that puzzles me is before i had the infections the logon bit was fine it just said loading settings as it normally does and logs on straight away, but when i log on now it says something like executing:/system32/winlogon and some more stuff but cant remember off the top of my head :s
i dont know what this is to do with but it is surely slowing my logon bit down anyway thanks
-joe

ill post log asap

That's the quarantined items log from Combofix. The log I need to see should be located here:

C:\ComboFix.txt

I'm not surprised that you're still getting popups. There is a lot of suspicious looking files in your Combofix log. I'm hoping that AVG will take care of many of them and then we'll manually clean up whatever is left.

Just post back with that log when you have time and we'll take it from there.
