Hoping for help,
I was redirected to this location to post my HJT log. I've run Spybot S and D, Ad aware SE, CCleaner, Easycleaner, Spyware Blaster, Spyware Terminater, a-squared, Regcure and I've scanned the computer with Kaspersky and Bitdefender. Most of the scans did not work unfortunately. The primary problems are that I constantly get messages 'This program has performed an Illegal Operation and must close' and that 'Connection to mail account has failed'. When I close the illegal operation message I lose the desktop display along with two or three icons next to the clock. [especially the icon for online] To restore the icons the pc must be rebooted. I get the illegal operation messages when I open or close My Computer, C drive, and run or open and close any program or folder. The other rather serious problem is that I just lost my Outlook Express and have no idea why or how to restore it. I've included the failed to connect message as well as my last HJT log. I'm getting desperate and hope someone can please help.

Howdy TQUAD,

Other than your mention of using Spyware Terminator and that software being on this list, there is no undesirable software or items of infection showing here. Although I do not know the history of any repairs you have attempted so far, your error message and issues show as relevant to the MS info here. I also see you have Zone Alarm there, so if this includes the firewall component you may want to check that to see if ports are being blocked that way.
