Hi all I'm new to the site and this is my first post so I hope i get this right.

Until recently my Laptop was running fine and I had no problems with viruses.
I was running Norton Antivirus until I got infected. Im now running with PCcillin and AVG. PCcillin is blocking most of the sites comming through on a regular basis. My operating system has slowed to a crawl since the problem started, even opening up a word document is a slow process and surfing the net is a nightmare.
Often i'm geting messages telling me to download WinAntivirus is this a reputable product?

Please help ive got no experience with computers

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

The most regular sites being opened are below:

1. http://url.cpvfeed.com/cpv.jsp?p=110219&am...26affid%3D67333

Welcome to the BleepingComputer HijackThis Logs and Analysis forum lovey80

First please find and delete:
C:\DOCUME~1\User\LOCALS~1\Temp\Temporary Directory 1 for HijackThis.zip\HijackThis.exe

Now download and install Hijackthis.
This is a self-extracting version which will automatically install HJT to C:\Program Files\Hijackthis by default,a desktop shortcut will also be created.

*********************************

Please download Combofix and save to the desktop:
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/Beta/ComboFix.exe
Note:
It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop

Close any open browsers.
Double click on combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's finished it will produce a log.
Post the C:\ComboFix.txt into your next reply.
Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running.
That may cause the program to freeze/hang.

*********************************

Now go to:
C:\Program Files\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe
Right click on Hijackthis.exe and select 'Rename', rename it to abc.bat
Double click on abc.bat(which is still Hijackthis.exe),post that log into your next reply please.
Also post the C:\ComboFix.txt

Please follow these instructions very carefully.

Launch/start up AVG Anti-Spyware.
On the main page click the 'Update' tab,and then 'Start Update'.
Note:
If you have any problems running the update process prior to running the scan,download/install the 'Full Database' from here:
http://download.ewido.net/avgas-signatures-full-current.exe

Once the updates have been installed,do the following:
Select the 'Scanner' icon at the top of the screen, then select the 'Settings' tab.
Once in the 'Settings' screen, under 'How to act?',then under 'Set default action for detected malware to:', click on 'Recommended actions',then click on 'Quarantine'.
Under 'Reports' select 'Automatically generate report after every scan' and unselect 'Only if threats were found'.
Exit AVG Anti-Spyware,don't run the scan just yet.

You might want to print/copy the following as you need to be in Safe Mode from here on.

Reboot your computer into SAFE MODE using the F8 method.
To do this, restart your computer and after hearing your computer beep once during startup (but before the Windows icon appears) press the F8 key repeatedly.
A menu will appear with several options.
Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate and select the option to run Windows in "Safe Mode".

Have Hijack This fix the following [If still present], by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and selecting 'Fix checked'.
Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing:

O20 - Winlogon Notify: khfcbxu - khfcbxu.dll (file missing)
O20 - Winlogon Notify: rqomk - C:\WINDOWS\system32\rqomk.dll (file missing)

Exit Hijackthis.

Still in Safe Mode launch AVG Anti-Spyware.
Click the 'Scanner' icon at the top.
To start the scan click on 'Complete System Scan'.
Please be patient,it takes a while for the scan to finish.

Once the scan is complete,do the following.
If AVG Anti-Spyware detected any infected objects:,click on 'Apply All Actions'.

Next click on 'Save Report'.
Copy and paste that report into your next reply.
The report can be found under the 'Reports' tab at the top.
Close AVG Anti-Spyware when you've done.
Reboot normally.

Post the AVG Anti Spyware report and a new Hijackthis log into your next reply.
Let me know how your pc is running now please.

Thanks Ritchie for all your help. Yesterday after I ran the Vundofix program it picked up several items which I cleaned before I logged back on this site to follow your instructions. The popups have stopped which is my main concern though my computer is still slow.

This is the second time Ive ran a scan and found Adware Virtumonde - threat Medium on AVG. Shouldn't PCcillin be stopping this comming in or could one of the viruses that was in the Computer have been generating this. Below are the reports you asked for, the one at the bottom is the report of the files that Vundofix found.

P.S. Do they ever catch the freaks that makes these things? I'd love an address!!!!!

Actually i think part of the problem with slowness is running AVG and PCcillin at the same time. It seems to run quicker when I exit AVG and just have PCcillin running when Im browsing etc. How do I stop certain programs running on startup?

Again thanks a million for this help I was ready to kill someone.

Do you know exactly which one was hijacking the browser to the URL.CPVFEED website???

Basically, this was caused by the Trojan Vundo infection, thats as much as i know at the moment

*******************

First disable Windows Defender's real-time protection,as it will interfere.
* Open Microsoft Windows Defender. Click Start>All Programs>Windows Defender.
* Click on 'Tools'>'Options'.
* Under 'Real-time protection options', unselect the 'Turn on real-time protection' check box
* Click 'Save'.

*******************

Have Hijack This fix the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and selecting 'Fix checked'.
Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {53DAFC52-7039-48D1-A35D-822D3A46D648} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {9D5EB3FE-15D5-4FA0-9BC3-5D64C7B327A4} - (no file)

Exit Hijackthis.

Double click on combofix.exe again and follow the prompts.
When it's finished it will produce a log.
Post the C:\ComboFix.txt into your next reply, along with a new Hijackthis log please.
Let me know how your pc is running now.

I was on messenger and a guy that I often chat to send through a message with a link asking hey is this a photo of you?

When I clicked on the link my messenger went crazy for a minute and started going through my messenger addresses and started sending the same message to everyone in my address book. When I closed messenger there was 2 icons on my desktop. One of them was oo.exe.
I deleted them both then opened messenger again - the same thing happened. i did a search for them both and deleted any entries of them. I eventually uninstalled messenger and then reinstalled it from MSN. Messenger worked fine but my explorer was crazy
I havent stopped having problems since then until now.

I spoke to him recently and he told me he downloaded one of the programs the pop ups were sending us to and the problem stopped. I told him that was very foolish. Should he enter a topic to see if he still has it?
