OK imagine if you will Gateway W730-K8X plugged into surge protector. unfortunately customer had a personal fridge plugged into same protector. fridge kicks on, and surges the whole block. laptop crashes, turns off....upon restart there is no dvd rom, and no hard drive. im guessing the surge knocked out the IDE controller. any thoughts or ideas on this ??
