I apologize for posting this again but I originally posted a few weeks ago and have not received a response. If I am doing something wrong someone please advise......I am at a loss with how to fix my problems!!!! I believe it has something to do with ad.doubleclick.net which appears in my history constantly.

Browser hangs often and any advertisements on a page do not populate (this itself is not a problem), but when this occurs I see several "Errors on Page" messages and if I look at the page history there will be several occurences of "ad.doubleclick.net" which I am not sure what that is.

I believe your issue is caused by this program.

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Systweak Ad and Popup Blocker] "C:\Program Files\Advanced System Optimizer\adblock.exe"

It is designed to block ads before they load, which is why you'll see an error message on the webpage instead of the ad that was trying to load. And obviously this will slow down your browser's ability to render the web page quickly because each page is being checked for ads to block.

The presence of ad.doubleclick.net is almost unavoidable if you surf the Internet. It is one of the leading providers of online advertisements. Certainly annoying, but not indicative of malware in and of itself.

I think you'll find that by disabling the ad blocking program that your browser will actually work faster.
Let me know how it goes.

Ok...I think you are right about the source but when I remove adblock.exe entry from the registry, restart computer, and try and open IE I get "page cannot be displayed" errors on all pages. I then have to do a complete system restore to correct. I have also tried to uninstall this program and when I do that I get a message that adblock.exe cannot be removed.

How do I get rid of this little bugger and still have my IE work. I am using IE 7 if that matters.

Thanks!

Adblock is part of Advanced System Optimizer. You should be able to disable adblock through that program or uninstall it altogether.
