Hi screw32

Welcome to BleepingComputer.

Your best bet at this stage would be to take some time and study THIS. Follow all the steps carefully and then let us know how you got on.

Good luck

You first need to make sure your anti-virus scanner is update and run a full scan after that you will need to run a spyware scan. I use 2 spyware programs, here are the links http://www.superantispyware.com/
and http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html
Once you have installed them update and run full scans, I would reboot after each scan. If you have trouble removing threats run a full scan in safe mode.
Now you can start here to clean up your PC its a great link (thanks to Fozzie) http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/79279/winxp-slooooow-shutdown-manual-off-needed/

Or you can try Rowals way (we posted at the same time) lol

EDIT: Fix html tag. ~acklan~

With that number of problems that accumulated over time, it will take some effort and thoroughness to clean them out. Begin first with updating and running your resident Anti-virus (best to do this in Safe Mode); allow it to quarantine everything it finds. Post in the Am I Infected Forum anything it finds that it CANNOT quarantine.

The next step is to download, install, and update several anti-spyware applications. Ad-AwareSE, Spybot Search and Destroy, and AVG Anti-spyware are all free and extremely good at finding bad files. Run them one at a time in Safe Mode, and allow them to quarantine everything they find. Again, report back with anything they are unable to get rid of.

Regards,
John
