Hi there,

I ran an EXE file that I THOUGHT was going to install some new video codecs for me. Instead, I got burned. I use eTrust Vet AntiVirus by CA (Computer Associates). When I ran the "codecs.exe" file, it attempted to stop the malware that just installed. I think it stopped some of it but possibly not all of it. Here's the log file from Vet:
2007/04/24 19:03:10.656 File infection: C:\WINDOWS\system32\unsvchosts.exe is Win32/Matcash!generic trojan. Deleted
2007/04/24 19:03:10.750 File infection: C:\WINDOWS\system32\unsvchosts.exe is Win32/Matcash!generic trojan.
2007/04/24 19:03:10.765 File infection: C:\WINDOWS\system32\unsvchosts.exe is Win32/Matcash!generic trojan.
2007/04/24 19:03:10.906 File infection: C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchosts.exe is Win32/Matcash!generic trojan. Deleted
2007/04/24 19:03:10.906 File infection: C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchosts.exe is Win32/Matcash!generic trojan.
2007/04/24 19:03:10.921 File infection: C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchosts.exe is Win32/Matcash!generic trojan.

I also noticed the following folders+files had been installed on my PC (named ARTBOX):
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL USERS\APPLICATION DATA\GRIMINSIDEIDLEPLAY\GLUE BOOB.EXE
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ARTBOX\APPLICATION DATA\THIRDP~1\LICENSEBASH.EXE
C:\PROGRAM FILES\COMMON FILES\{38CAC~1\BAR888.DLL
Note: I can't remember the full folder name for "THIRDP~1" and "{38CAC~1". The log file only showed these DOS-friendly abbreviated names.

I've had to clean out a PC or two in the past so ran through the usual virus scans and also looked through my Windows Registry and file system for anything that matched notes on these two pages:
http://www.ca.com/us/securityadvisor/virus...s.aspx?id=61569
-and-
http://www.ca.com/us/securityadvisor/pest/...px?id=453103779

ANYWAY, after all that, here's my HiJackThis log file (with all programs closed)...
