Turned on a laptop tonight not used for quite a while and connected to the internet via wireless network on main desktop. Couldnt do so, but found I could connect via AVG as I updated the program.

I am now doing a complete scan and so far after half an hour it has found 2 spysheriff viruses (stillscanning at mo).

Reading various threads on here, I am trying to work out whether AVG will be able to delete the virus at the end of the scan, or whether indeed the scan I am seeing is in fact "real"?

Havent done anything else yet, just wanted to find out whether AVG will do the job or not?

If not, will proceed onto the self help guide on the sticky thread.

BC removal guide for Spysheriff

Assuming you mean the antivirus AVG, I doubt it would remove it.

I always recommend to run Super Antispyware after running the the fix in the link above.

Install Super Antispyware. Run it in safe mode. Allow it to quarantine whatever it finds.

Post a Hijack This log in the Hijack This Forum by following the directions in the link below if the programs above have not removed ALL malware. DO NOT post the log in this forum.
