My Explorer.exe Creates Kernel32-threads

Hi there specialists.

On our home computer (win XP home edition) we have five users. When logging on to one specific user, explorer.exe creates two kernel32.dll-threads that use up almost all CPU space. The problem doesn’t occur on any other user. No hit on antivirus or Ad-Aware checks.

I’m able to kill the kernel32-threads with Process Explorer, but at the next log on, the problem’s back. I tried to replace the kernel32-file in c:\windows\system32, without any luck. Explore.exe lies where it should in c:\windows so it doesn’t seem to be a fake explorer file. I even tried to create a new user and just copy important files like “my documents” and “address book” to the new user, but the problem remains.

I searched the web for solutions but nothing seems to really fit this specific problem. Could someone please help?

The HiJackThis-file looks the same whether the kernel32-threads are running or not.

My advice is - read the instructions!!!
