Hello all,
I'm a newbie to this site, but have used several forums with pretty good results.I'm using a 6 year old HP Pavilion 724c with XP Home SP2. I got this computer from my sister two years ago when she could not use it in her work due to her letting her son play many games and him visiting lots of porn sites. It took me 1/2 a year to vanquish the worst crap using many programs like Spybot & Adaware. It was so bad that you could not log in without a gazillion popups telling me I had to download this or that registry repair programs to fix it. I knew enough not to fall for that! It is now running fairly good (I was able to stop all the popups). I am currently using Comodo firewall, Avast antivirus (free version), the paid for version of Counterspy, Cyberhawk, Spybot, Adaware and Windows Defender. I still get some problems that I will need expert help with. This is why I chose this site (recommended by many friends).
