I just got a used sony vaio and I bought a linksys N router and card for the laptop. When I try connecting to the internet using IE it doesn't connect, just sits there searching, while using the card and not. When I run the Vaio wireless LAN setup utility and do the diagnostics it finds a connection but I can't connect to the internet. I can connect to windows messenger/msn messenger (whatever it is they both look the same), don't have anything else to try and get connection with

Hi, you can use the command tracert to see how mant hops it takes to get out. e.g. go to start>run >type in "cmd" and then type "tracert google.com" without the quotesand a web site microsoft.com or any other site you know.
