My computer barely comes on and if it does it takes several attempts to turn it off. Opening a program i.e word, excel etc takes 2-3 minutes. Opening IE takes several attempts and I have to jump start my modem several time a day (using bellsouth dsl). My computer is infected with Antivermins and others (trojans, spyware, highjackers).

I followed some advice of a co-worker and installed Active Virus Shield -- that tripled the problem. I is difficult sometimes to get my computer to come on. I also installed SmitFraudFix and followed the instructions in safe mode. No help.

I don't have money for a new computer or $300 to get this one fix (I'm not sure the computer is worth that much).

Install Super Antispyware. Run it in safe mode. Allow it to quarantine whatever it finds.

Run the online scan for Bit Defender in normal mode. Allow it to quarantine whatever it finds.
