Good-morning all! Just a quick question. How often should the computer be opened up and literally cleaned? I'm having problems with it shutting down which I hope means it needs to be cleaned out due to dust and such. If this doesn't work I'll be back with more issues... just alittle warning for you. Thank you!!

If you've never cleaned it out, then now is a good time.

I would say once a month or other month would do you good.

If you are not comfortable with opening up your system and following the directions as referred to in post #2 above, then you need to seek out a tech that will do such for you. It will cost you money.

Did you read the referenced link in post #2?

Ah... thanks you guys!! Thanks for the link and I guess I better get to cleaning since it should be done every other month or so. It's been about a year for me. As usual, replies are quick and oh so helpful! You guys are the best.

How often you clean your computer really depends on how dusty an environment you keep it in. I think it would be a good idea to open the case every two months and have a quick look to see if it needs a clean.

I need to clean mine monthly in the winter due to forced air heating and one constantly shedding mutt. During the other 6 months (yes winter is long here) I clean it twice.
