Is there a difference between PC Tools Registry Mechanic and CCleaner Registry cleaner? If so which is better to use?

Hello,

I have used both and find that the ccleaner one is restrained in its analysis of invalid entries. registry mechanic I found was quite aggressive but it never did any damage, I would go with Registry mechanic, but thats just my opinion.
Regards,

Alan.

As new as Vista is and all the compatability problems they're have with different programs, I think I'd wait before rushing to use a registry cleaner. Just my 2 cents

Ok, thank you.

Just a quick question on CCleaner. When it says: Unused File Extension and I tell it to fix them does it delete the files that they are attached to or what does that mean?

I know enough about the registrey and Ccleaner to know I don't know enough. They have FAQ's and a support forum at their website:
