Hi

Everything's been fine on my computer for a long while, but just recently explorer has been running so slowly to load up all pages. I've cleared the cache and reinstalled IE. Firefox is fine with the exception of being very slow to find webpages if I enter the address without 'co.uk' or '.com' such as 'bbc'.

S&D, Ad-aware and AVG find nothing, nor do online scans.

Running XP SP2
AMD X2 4400

Forgot to add, I've also run Ccleaner.

And, since I posted this, my ebay account has been hacked and a load of seller's listings added on my account.

Any chance someone could just confirm whether or not the log appears to be clean or not?

Hi Stevie_J,

Welcome to Bleeping Computer.

Sorry for the delay, the forum is busy right now.

Since you asked I'll answer the question first: I don't see any signs of malware in this log.

I did quite a bit of searching on the eBay problem and, since your log is clean, it is likely that this is a coincidence. Many many people have had their accounts hacked recently. It seems likely that eBay has some security issues of their own.

The fact that Firefox runs well indicates that your Internet connection is working properly.

I am not familiar with IE7, so I have no advice of my own. However, there is a good Troubleshooting section on this web page. I would suggest for a start that you uninstall and reinstall IE7 once more, carefully following Sandi's procedures to make sure you get a clean install with no "carryover." Then if still no joy, try following her other tips starting with the section "Troubleshooting Internet Explorer after installation."

You can also post a topic on the BC Internet Applications forum.

If you have any further questions, just ask.

Dave
